Theoretical research in optical quantum systems and their applications
The Theoretical Quantum Optics Group carries out research in theoretical physics with a focus on quantum systems, open-system dynamics, quantum correlations, entanglement, metrology, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum information.
The group is based at the Institute of Physics of the Federal University of Alagoas and contributes to the training of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, while also collaborating with researchers from other institutions.

Quantum optics
Theoretical study of light-matter interaction, cavities, Jaynes-Cummings and Tavis-Cummings models, and bosonic systems.
Open quantum systems
Dissipative dynamics, non-Markovianity, master equations, structured reservoirs, and effective models for decoherence.
Quantum thermodynamics
Energy, work, heat, ergotropy, quantum batteries, and thermodynamic limits in microscopic systems.
Quantum information
Quantum correlations, entanglement, generalized measurements, quantum channels, and foundations of information theory.
Non-Hermitian systems
Effective dynamics, PT symmetry, exceptional points, and applications in optical and quantum systems.
Computational modeling
Numerical simulations in Python, QuTiP, and analytical methods applied to many-body models and dissipative systems.
