                    1. Registrations are open for the selection to enroll in Master's and Doctorate (PhD) courses in the Graduate Program in Physics –
PPGF/IF/UFAL (Edital PPGF/CPG-PROPEP/UFAL n.º 02/2023).
2. A total of 20 vacancies are available, distributed between both levels (Master's and PhD) for broad competition and reserved quotas.
Registration will be carried out exclusively online through the Integrated System of Academic Activities Management - SIGAA, from
November 1st to 30th, 2023.

4. Below is a summary of the most important information:
TARGET PUBLIC
- Candidates with a degree in Physics or related areas who hold a higher education diploma issued by official institutions.
- Candidates who still need to complete the undergraduate course may enroll as long as the completion date is officially set
before the start of enrollment in the course.
The selection process comprises:
I - Curriculum Analysis Grade (NAC)
II - School Transcript Grade (NHE)
III - Grade on the Explanatory Memorandum (NEM)

If there are not enough approved quota candidates to occupy the reserved vacancies, these will be
reverted to broad competition, being occupied by the other approved candidates.

Candidates
must
attach,
when
registering
for
the
SIGAA
(https://sigaa.sig.ufal.br/sigaa/public/processo_seletivo/lista.jsf?aba=p-stricto&nivel=S ), only the following documents:

SYSTEM

5.1 Mandatory documents for all candidates:
5.1.1 Completed and signed registration form (Annex 1);
5.1.2 Personal documents:
a) For Brazilians: Identity document, CPF, certificate of provision or exemption from military service for men between 18 and 45
years old
b) For foreigners: National Registry of Foreigners (issued in Brazil, for foreign residents) or Passport;
5.1.3 To enroll in the Master's Degree: Diploma or Certificate of Completion of the Undergraduate Course issued by the Institution
where the candidate obtained the degree; to enroll in the Doctorate: Undergraduate diploma and Master's diploma, issued by the
Institution where the candidate obtained the degrees;
5.1.4 Academic record of the Master's or Undergraduate degree, depending on the desired level;
5.1.5 Curriculum Vitae completed in the LATTES-CNPq form (available on the website http://lattes.cnpq.br/), duly documented with
scanned copies of each of the certificates (attach only certificates of activities that generate points for the current selection process, as
indicated in the “CURRICULUM ANALYSIS CRITERIA” tables in Annex 2 of this notice). The selection board will not accept CV
models.
5.1.6 Barema Form (Annex 4) completed and signed by the candidate with the desired score, even if it is zero, for each grade contained
in the history and in the CV analysis items that can generate a score in this selection, as per Annex 2.
5.1.7 Candidate's Explanation of Reasons Form (Annex 5), filled out with a 20 to 30-line essay that explains the reasons that led you to
apply for the Postgraduate Program Degree and what your professional prospects are in academic and technical terms.
§ 1 Only for enrollment in the current selection process, a candidate may replace the diploma or course completion certificate with a
declaration issued by a higher education institution stating that the candidate has completed the course. However, the diploma
presentation is mandatory for registration in Master's and Doctorate (PhD) courses. In case the diploma has not yet been issued, a
document proving undergraduate completion will be accepted provisionally (where it appears that the student has already obtained a
degree and the date of graduation) or a master's degree (with a copy of the master's dissertation and defense minutes attached); Course
completion certificates are only valid for a period recognized by UFAL for six months from the date of issue. After this period, the
graduate student must present a copy of the diploma.
5.2 Mandatory documents for applications in quota vacancies::
5.2.1 Self-declaration form duly completed and signed, depending on the type of quota.
5.2.2 Memorial (descriptive) with at least two pages, listing your life trajectory, taking into account the contribution of this training
required for your social insertion;
5.2.3 Only for quilombola (Brazilian afro-descendants) or indigenous candidates: documents that attest to ethnic belonging to that
community. These documents must be issued by local leaders, recognized by the Fundação Cultural Palmares or by the National
Coordination of Articulation of Black Rural Quilombola Communities (for quilombolas) and by indigenous leaders or by the National
Indian Foundation (for indigenous);

5.2.4 Only for transgender or settled candidates: it is required a declaration of family income less than 1.5 minimum wages (one and a
half minimum wages) per capita, as well as a declaration of having completed secondary education at a public school. A settled
candidate is a person who lives in the agrarian reform settlement or a set of agricultural units installed by INCRA on a rural property.
Settled candidates need to prove this residence condition.
5.2.5 Only for candidates with disabilities (PwD): it is also necessary to attach the medical report proving that the candidate has a longterm physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment (see Art. 2 of Law no. 13,146/2015).

5.3 Only for candidates who intend to request subject equivalence to analyze the academic record evaluation criteria in Annex 2 of the
notice, the syllabus for each subject considered equivalent must be sent (stamped and signed by the course coordinator or digitally
certified).

6. The absence of documents referring to the items listed in article 5 of this Notice will imply the cancellation of the registration.
