Curriculum
MASTERS
The requirements for granting a Master of Science degree are:
- obtain at least 20 (twenty) credits, 12 (twelve) of which are mandatory and 8 (eight) are electives;
- prepare and defend a dissertation, and that it be approved by an Examining Board;
- fulfill all other requirements made by UFAL's Statute and General Regulations.

PhD/Doctorate
The requirements for the award of the Doctor of Science degree are:
- obtain at least 44 (forty-four) credits, 24 (twenty-four) of which are in mandatory subjects and 20 (twenty-four) among the electives;
- pass the qualification exams;
- prepare and defend an original research thesis, and that it be approved by an Examining Board;
- have to fulfill all other requirements made by the University's Statute and General Regiment.
