Physical Acoustics Group

Welcome to the Physical Acoustics Group (Grupo de Acústica Física-GAF). The group was founded by Professor Glauber T. Silva in 2008. Our goal is to further understand ultrasonic wave interaction with particles and cells in fluid and soft solids. We want to make this knowledge useful to real-life applications.

The group interests include micro-acoustofluidic (which involves acoustics, microfluidics, and microsystems design), acoustic levitation, ultrasound scattering, and ultrasonic imaging. Our research is carried out employing theoretical, numerical, and experimental methods. We also seek to turn our research results into innovative technology.
